Motivational Monday Mornings

Hey! No sleeping in on Mondays!

This week’s Motivational Monday Morning is a fresh box of milk chocolate link love dedicated to gaining RSS subscribers fast!

As you may or may not know, I’m attempting to boost my RSS subscribers to a total of 37 by Sunday. Now, I know that’s an astronomically high number for a big-headed blogger like me to reach in such a short time, but the articles below motivated me to boost my numbers and take action now!

I got a pocket full of loonies that I am willing to sacrifice if you help me succeed.

What You Can Do To Gain RSS Subscribers Fast

“Jay, if you’re struggling just to get 37 subscribers, what the Hell are you doing writing a post titled ‘How To Gain RSS Subscribers Fast’!?”

Even though I’ve yet to experience a wave of subscriber love first hand, I have been inspired by others.  Once you get a taste of the following link love, you’ll understand why I am a believer.

I’ve been focusing a lot on finding ways to engage readers and gain subscribers lately, and want to share 5 killer articles that I found last week. If you follow even half of the advice that these guys have offered, it will surely help you gain more RSS subscribers in a hurry.

Also, keep a close eye on Sly as he tries to reach 1000+ subscribers in 90 days or less.
He currently has about 260+ and his deadline is by November 9th.  That’s serious motivation. However, this dude already knows how to make things happen. Subscribe to his feed and you’ll gain a ton of useful tips and tricks to get your feed rockin’.

So, you see what I mean? Look at all that killer info! I’m just trying to go from 19 to 37 in a week. Even if you don’t want to subscribe by email for a chance to win THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS and change your life forever, you could still subscribe to the RSS feed if you’re starting to feel warm and fuzzy from the chocolate link love I just sprinkled on you.

No idea why you picked 37, but I have the goal of reaching 100 subscribers in the next 2 months.
I helped your cause by subscribing to your blog. I will be reading it over the next few days. Good luck

  2. Sly from SlyVisions dot Com Says:

Thanks for the mention man! Getting to 1k subscribers is going to be very tough, but yes, I do have some “sly” tricks up my sleeves that will get me there. :P

By the way, I also wish you good luck with your goal of 37 subscribers by Sunday. You should be able to get there without a problem. :)

    Thanks for the links!

I’ve been on a rampage trying to get more subscribers. I’ve come up with a tactic, where all you have to do is change one thing on your site, while doing all the tips mentioned in the posts you linked to.

Just changing this one thing will increase the chances of subscriptions.

    What is it?

Well, you’ll find out when I publish a post about it 2 days from now ; )

    And, it really helps!

    Great post Jay!

I’ve been seeing my number of subs slowly climb, but no matter what it is, it’s never fast enough and I always want more. But I never turned down a post, particularly a collection of posts, that orient themselves around increasing my subs. So thanks!

  5. Jay Says:

@Ryan: Thanks for coming by man and I really appreciate you subscribing! Sunday’s post tells the reason why 37. ;)

@Sly: NP on the mention, good info over there! :) Thanks for the words of encouragement!

@Luis: Oh man, it had better be good now with the big build up and everything. Ok, I’ll be there in 48 hours, and I wanna see some Subscriber Magic Secrets Unleashed! ;)

@Mark: Thanks for not turning down “my” post. Yeah, I think it’s almost always a slow climb at first. I’m just having fun with it. :)

    Cheers Guys!

and just think…had you offered $1 per rss signup as a prize you would be paying out -$3 based on current reading. LMAO - Feedburner is a funny beast.

Great post and thanks for sharing the info…some great reading there.

  7. BlackhatWay Says:

I’m currently aiming to 100 subscribers from 94. Hoping to reach that before my contest ends.

Thanks for those links, really good tips.

Ha- that post was pretty funny. I give you an A for creativity and felt pretty good when I realized I subscribed BEFORE reading this particular post.

I’m doing Yaro’s Blog Mastermind course right now and one of the lessons covers this topic pretty well. Since the majority of my income comes from non-blog web publishing, I have yet to put much effort into acquiring subscribers but this is quite inspiring!

So it says you have 37 now- not sure if that’s updated with me or not, but do I get the boobie prize for being #37? ;)

  10. Jay Says:

@JeniL Ah hah! Glad someone else shares my odd sense of humor. :) Thanks so much for subscribing!

I am the same, 100% of my income has nothing to do with blogging except for a bit of cash that comes from a few “blog flips”, if that counts?

For me, the reason for aquiring more subscribers is on a deeper, more personal level than trying to gain a couple bucks from an affiliate link or two.
My low reader count was making me feel inadequate when I would hang out at other blogs and see that the authors had “bigger numbers” than me.

Thanks for helping me cover up my insecurities with RSS subscriptions.

    Cheers!
    Jay

PS. I forgot to add a boobie prize, damn it! Pretty cool that it hit 37 for a day though lol.

  11. Missy Says:

CleverJay.com - That should have been your domain name, not SuiteJ. Love it, and i’m SURE you will make it to 37. You know my lucky number in Roulette is 34. This is where the 34 in G34 Media comes from. The G stands for Groovy.

I’m already a long standing email subscriber, and i hope to win the jackpot.

As for RSS subs i have 28 on G34, but as you will soon find out the Feedburner # fluctuates, worse than pagerank.

  12. Normal Joe Says:

Sum bee…thanks for the links…gonna peep em now, I made a crazy comment on your other post so…yeah….just carry on sir.

As for the goal, let’s blast it out the park! I want that sammich money.

  13. Jarret Says:

Hey Jay, found your blog through theathomecouple.com and decided to check it out.

I just subscribed to your feed so it should have bumped it up to 37 but it is still showing 36 for me, maybe FeedBurner needs an hour or 2 to update.

It looks like you have some great posts on your blog so far and I am really interested in seeing what you produce in the future.

  14. Jay Says:

@Missy: LOL. Clever? Why thank you. Roulette, huh? So, now I know where all your blogging profits go! ;)

@Joe: Thanks stopping in dude! Don’t worry about crazy comments. That’s what I expect from you anyway! ;) I’ll figure them out. lol @ “sammich money”. Didn’t you already win a sammich last week?

@Jarret: Hey! Thanks so much for subscribing. I appreciate it. Yeah, Feedburner seems to update once a day, in the wee hours of the morning for “the day before”. So, since it’s late now, yours might not even show up in the stats reader until Saturday.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to continue to grow this place into something you feel is worth staying subscribed to. The people that have been coming by regularly are awesome and are the type that like to help each other out with no strings attached. I’m very thankful for that and it motivates me to continue. :)

    Cheers guys!
    Jay

  15. Elijah Says:

Having goals like that really push you to strive for greatness. The psychological effect alone will increase productivity as long as the fire is under your ass.

1000 subscribers in 90 days is completely do-able.. I’d like to have 1000 by January. We got almost 30 in our first month, so as long as that number can keep doubling each month I think we’ll be good.

    Great link resource!

  16. Jay Says:

@Elijah: Goals are everything, and if you’re genuine about your efforts, then I think people want to help you reach them. This seems to have worked well for me on this level. I hit 40 from 19 ina few days, although I had to give away a bit of cashola. lol
Like I said a few times here though, a big part of me starting this blog is to build a network of like-minded friends and it’s enjoyable to have little fun with it. :)

    Cheers!
    Jay
